SWISLR is Hiring a Project Coordinator
We are recruiting an early career scientist with excellent communication skills and strong interests and experience in socioecological research to help lead a newly funded Research Coordination Network SWISLR - Saltwater Intrusion and Sea Level Rise in rural landscapes: Assessing Risk and Identifying Mitigation and Adaptation Options for Rural Coastal Plain Communities. The goal of the SWISLR -RCN project is to address the lack of holistic understanding of the environmental and social impacts of saltwater intrusion and sea-level rise (SWISLR) on the vast, predominantly rural ecosystems and communities of the North American Coastal Plain. Successful applicants will be: interested in research at the interface of social and environmental sciences; skilled at engaging with diverse audiences; and enthusiastic about synthesis and outreach.
The position comes with a starting salary of $52,704 and funds are available for a three year appointment contingent upon performance. The successful applicant will be based at Duke University and co-supervised by Emily Bernhardt at Duke University and Xi Yang at the University of Virginia. They will have the opportunity to work closely with the scholars listed below.
